The efficiency of design

Montijo Airport

To amplify Lisbon’s tourist potential over the next 40 years, an airport was designed to connect the city to the world, with a focus on the metropolitan area’s economic development.

The project’s objective would be to provide the capital with a hub that would develop the country’s attractiveness and responsiveness. Thus, Montijo Airport was designed for 24 movements per hour and 4,5 million passengers in the first year and can be expanded to more than 7 million passengers/year.
