Expanding Access to Water and Sanitation Across Vale do Paraíba

SABESP Package 10 – Water and Sanitation Universalization

Across 13 municipalities in the Vale do Paraíba region of São Paulo, SABESP is advancing a major infrastructure programme to expand access to drinking water and wastewater collection and treatment. The initiative aims to accelerate universal access to these essential services, extending coverage across urban and rural communities while improving the quality and resilience of the region’s water and sanitation infrastructure.

The programme covers the review and optimisation of SABESP’s reference concepts and the development of detailed designs for water supply and wastewater systems across the 13 municipalities. The scope includes transmission and distribution pipelines, sewer networks, pumping stations, water and wastewater treatment plants and reservoirs. All designs are developed using BIM, while value engineering is applied to identify technically efficient solutions and optimise the use of resources and materials.
