Building a More Resilient Grid for Puerto Rico

Jobos & Salinas 115 kV Transmission Infrastructure

Grid resilience is a critical priority for Puerto Rico’s electricity infrastructure, particularly given its exposure to severe weather events. The Jobos & Salinas project focuses on strengthening the transmission network through new 115 kV infrastructure, improving the reliability and resilience of power delivery in challenging environmental conditions.

Combining overhead and underground transmission solutions, the project involves the engineering of 115 kV infrastructure in the Jobos and Salinas areas for TSK – AES. The scope addresses the requirements of both construction typologies, with particular emphasis on resilient infrastructure and hurricane hardening to improve the network’s ability to withstand extreme weather conditions.
