Understanding the carbon footprint of the product and taking steps to reduce it

IBS Cards Product Carbon Footprint

The SIBS Cards Product Carbon Footprint project aims to measure and reduce the environmental impact of the production and its cards’ use, highlighting SIBS’ commitment to sustainability. By quantifying the carbon footprint, the company identifies opportunities to implement greener and more efficient practices.

With this project, for the year 2022, SIBS endeavoured to calculate the product carbon footprint of three SIBS Cards models: the bank card with chip, the non-bank card with chip (or CLESS Pure) and the non-bank card without chip.

This calculation was carried out according to each model’s value chain and following the methodological guidelines of the GHG Protocol’s Product Life Cycle Accounting and Reporting Standard.

In parallel, a NET ZERO PLASTIC strategy was developed, with support for the offset projects’ selection.
