ESO – Lens washing building – Atacama

This new building will house the facilities for cleaning and treatment of the new Extremely Large Telescope (ELT) of the European Southern Observatory (ESO).

The new Extremely Large Telescope will be the world’s largest telescope. It’s being built on a mountain in the Atacama Desert in northern Chile, and will be fully operational during 2024.

Impact

Quadrante is responsible for developing architectural, structural, and speciality execution projects for the building (including HVAC systems), and for coordinating and integrating the entire operational process. All speciality projects were developed in BIM (Building Information Modelling).
