Cluj Napoca – Oradea – Episcopia Bihor Railway, Lot 3 Poieni – Aleşd, Romania

The Cluj Napoca – Oradea – Episcopia Bihor railway line’s modernisation and electrification, especially the Poieni – Aleşd section, is a crucial project for sustainable development and European integration.

This initiative not only promotes energy efficiency and the reduction of carbon emissions, but also strengthens economic, political and security connections between Eastern European countries and the rest of the continent.

Therefore, the project involved the complete rehabilitation of around 53 km of railway, including electrification and increasing the speed to 160 km/h, along with implementing the latest signalling and ETCS/ERTMS solutions.
