Circular economy and efficient use of resources

The project to support the development of REN’s Strategy for the Efficient Use of Resources and Circular Economy is a key initiative to promote sustainability and an efficient use of resources in the company.

This strategy aims to rethink REN’s processes and practices in order to minimise waste, reduce the environmental footprint and promote the resources’ circularity.

This project focused on characterising and assessing REN’s material and asset flows – including waste production – and to calculate the circularity index for the entire company. Based on this assessment, an integrated strategy for circular economy and efficient use of resources was designed.

Impact

Given the value chain relevance in REN’s decarbonisation, a pilot project was carried out with suppliers to assess the maturity level of the environmental and circular practices adopted both at organisational level and in the products sold. The project also included training internal teams on circularity and the efficient use of resources.
