In the Environment Division, we have a multidisciplinary technical team, with extensive experience in environment and climate change, focused on quality and versatility of sustainable solutions.
A team that supports Quadrante’s internationalisation, being responsible for Technical and Environmental Due Diligences, Planning and Management of Water Resources and Solid Waste, EIA, Environmental Licensing, Audits, Environmental Follow-up, and Monitoring.
We have developed studies in the fields of Waste and Effluents, Soil Contamination, Ecology and Forest Resources, Socioeconomics and Heritage, globally integrated with the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
In the context of climate change, this Division operates in the areas of Public Policy (PP), European Emissions Trading (CELE) and Strategic Management for Climate Change (GEAC). Quadrante was the first Portuguese company to operate in this area and, as part of Carbon Offset, to issue the Climate Responsibility certification with the brand Carbonfree®.
In the Renewables division, we provide highly demanding, complex and large-scale consultancy and engineering services. With perfect knowledge of technological advances in the energy market, we develop innovative solutions that are functional, reliable and, above all, sustainable, both from the construction standpoint and operating costs and from an environmental viewpoint, liaising our projects with the rest of the company’s teams in order to deliver projects with an above-average level of coordination and knowledge.
With an experienced team, we work in the renewable energy production sector, namely in designing photovoltaic solar power stations of various types and technologies, both for self-consumption and utility scale, being familiar with solar power station projects on the ground using fixed technology or with a tracker, on a roof and/or cartop, and on the water using floating technology. We have also developed wind farm projects using the latest technology, both for new projects from scratch and for retrofitting and overfitting existing wind farms. Finally, as both technologies are complementary in terms of their energy production cycle, we also develop energy storage projects with batteries (BESS), supporting our clients in outlining the project strategy and following it through to implementation.
In line with our clients and Quadrante’s internationalisation strategy, we develop multidisciplinary projects in Portugal, Europe, Africa and Latin America.
Based on Quadrante’s strategy of innovation and of being at the forefront, we develop our projects using software such as PV Case, Autocad Civil 3d and PV Syst. To support engineering, we also use a set of IT tools that are governed by international standards, allowing our work to be recognised worldwide.
Quadrante’s High Voltage Power and Energy Division provides Consulting and Engineering services for highly-demanding and complex projects. Possessing a perfect knowledge of technological advances in the energy market, we develop innovative solutions that are functional, reliable and, above all, sustainable, from the standpoint of the cost of construction and operation and also from an environmental viewpoint.
Our experienced team allows us to operate in both conventional and unconventional sectors of power generation, transportation and distribution, including substations and medium- to very-high-voltage transmission lines.
As part of Quadrante’s internationalisation strategy and in support of our customers, we develop multidisciplinary projects in Portugal, Africa and Latin America.
Based on Quadrante’s innovation and forward-thinking strategy, we develop our projects using BIM (Building Information Modelling) software. We also use a set of computer tools governed by international standards to support the Engineering area, which has given our work worldwide recognition.
In the Industrial Structures Division we develop all the Industry and Energy structural projects. With an experienced team who are experts in these type of projects, we work in various international markets designing complex and highly varied structures, permanently designing for at least 4 different countries.
The projects in Industry include industrial unit structures, mining and Oil & Gas. In Energy, electrical transmission lines, electrical substations, thermal power stations and renewable energy farms (solar, wind and hydro) are particularly noteworthy. We also develop Hydraulic Structure projects.
We use state-of-the-art calculation and design software for developing all the projects we are in charge of. For example, in the Industrial Structures Division, projects are developed using BIM.
Quadrante’s Infrastructure division is part of the Energy and Industry business units, providing highly demanding, complex and large-scale consultancy and engineering services. With perfect knowledge of technological advances in the energy market, we develop innovative solutions that are functional, reliable and, above all, sustainable, both from the standpoint of construction and operating costs and from an environmental viewpoint, liaising our projects with the rest of the company’s teams in order to deliver projects with an above-average level of coordination and knowledge.
With an experienced team, we carry out earthworks, access and drainage projects in the renewable energy generation sectors, namely in the design of photovoltaic solar power stations and wind farms, in energy transport and distribution projects such as substations and in industrial projects for the petrochemical, manufacturing, hydrogen and/or other non-polluting gases/fuels industries.
In line with our clients and Quadrante’s internationalisation strategy, we develop multidisciplinary projects in Portugal, Europe, Africa and Latin America.

In the Road Networks Division, we carry out comprehensive studies for the construction, maintenance and upkeep of railway and road infrastructures. The work carried out over the years includes studies of multiple motorways and roads in Portugal, Brazil, Mozambique, Algeria, Ghana and Romania. In the railway sector, our portfolio includes underground lines, conventional and high-speed railways, with notable projects in Portugal, Nigeria, Brazil and Romania.
A technical team with extensive experience in large-scale projects has been able to support Clients in the development of innovative solutions, taking into account the new financing formats for this type of infrastructure, in particular, CAPEX and OPEX. In this context, it is important to highlight the participation in the various phases of Concessions life cycles.

In the Roads Division, we carry out studies for the construction, maintenance and upkeep of urban road infrastructures, airports and large industrial sites. The work carried out over the years includes studies and projects in Portugal, Brazil, Mozambique, Algeria, Angola, Ghana and Romania.
A technical team with extensive experience in large-scale projects has been able to support Clients in the development of innovative solutions, taking into account new Client needs and the different objectives of each type of infrastructure, in particular, CAPEX and OPEX.

The Special Structures project involves the use of advanced design and sizing skills, integrating a team of experienced, trained and committed engineers and designers to address major challenges.
Within the Special Structures Division we develop engineering projects for Quadrante’s different Business Areas, with a particular focus on Transport and Hydraulics, with experience in Portugal and the African and Latin-American markets.
We carry out highly complex Structural Design projects which involve constructive phasing evolving the structural system and loading over time, a strategy typically used for bridges. In Transport, we are experts in different types of high and long-span road and railway bridges, including in-situ, prefabricated or prestressed concrete and steel-concrete mixed structures. In Hydraulics, we are experts in support structures for hydroelectric power stations and treatment plants, among others. For extreme seismic requirements, we develop basic insulation solutions or damping elements through non-linear dynamic analysis.
In the Geotechnics Division, we provide all the Geological and Geotechnical support to the client. Our work is focused on applying the fundamental concepts of Geology, Soil and Rock Mechanics to engineering problems in order to deliver solutions with the desired efficiency, at the lowest cost.
A team composed of engineers and a permanent geologist with experience in geological and geotechnical studies, environmental geotechnics, slope stability and soil reinforcement, foundation design, support structures, earthworks, and tunnels, allows us to respond to every problem and challenge we are faced with.
The activity of the Geotechnics Division is supported by various software available in the company, through internally developed spreadsheets or commercial software (PLAXIS, SLOPEW, FLAC).
In the Hydraulics Division, we respond to all kinds of projects and studies that involve water management issues.
Relying on a multidisciplinary team composed of agricultural, environmental, civil, hydraulic and water resource engineers who have developed their activity in several locations, we have acquired a great deal of expertise focused on designing technical, environmental and economically sustainable solutions, adjusted to each project.
This team develops studies and projects for Urban Infrastructure, Water Resources Management, River Revetment and Flood Control, Hydrogeological, Hydroelectric and Hydro-Agricultural Developments, Due Diligences, Irrigation Plans and Irrigation Management and Solid Waste Treatment. In order to develop these projects, we use the most robust software on the market, in particular, those developed by Bentley and EPA.
In the Waste division, we have a team specialising in developing studies and projects related to the waste sector, with a firm commitment to sustainability. Our team is made up of highly experienced professionals, whose activity spans different geographic locations and project magnitude.
With in-depth knowledge of best practices and environmental regulations in different regions, we offer innovative and effective solutions to challenges related to the sector. Our aim is not only to meet our clients’ needs, but also to promote sustainable practices that benefit the environment and local communities.
Our diverse experience allows us to address a wide range of issues, from waste management and planning to implementing large-scale recycling programmes. In the Structures Division, we develop large-scale and complex studies and projects, relying on technicians who are able to use all the generally applicable structural materials.
We have a track record in PPP projects, design-build studies and projects, and fast-track project development. We also have a good track record in optimising structural solutions, supported by an extensive database of expected consumption ratios and by the experience and creativity of our technicians.
This Division supports Quadrante in its international aspect when developing projects for all the locations where it is present – America, Europe, and Africa.
We are able to develop projects using 3D modelling and the BIM method, while using a set of computer tools, such as Revit, SAP200, ETABS, SAFE, and ROBOT, as well as pre- and post-processors developed in-house.
In the Hydraulics Division, we execute multidisciplinary Engineering Consulting projects and provide management and coordination services, geared towards implementing the different project stages, offering sustainable solutions at the lowest cost.
Our work is focused on water supply networks, domestic and rainwater drainage networks, harvesting rainwater/greywater for later use, as well as fire and sprinkler systems.
We have developed projects for several countries around the world, in particular, Portugal, Africa, and Latin America, and we have extensive experience in highly complex buildings.
In the projects developed in the Electrical Installations Division, we seek to integrate the best and most up-to-date engineering solutions, with a project design geared towards the needs of the client and towards maximising the efficiency, optimisation and flexibility of the installations throughout their useful life.
Based on our extensive domestic and cross-border experience, developed in Europe, Africa, Central and South America, we intervene in various areas, respecting the different working cultures and specific legislations.
By relying on a multidisciplinary structure that is under continuous updating, we provide consultancy, management and project design for Electrical Installations and Systems, Communications Systems, Active Security Systems and Centralised Technical Management and Intelligent Systems.
In the HVAC and Sustainability Division, we meet the growing need to design projects with a strong emphasis on coordination and compatibility among all aspects associated with highly complex projects resulting from the various services provided by Quadrante.
The Mechanical Installations Division covers the various functional needs related to projects in this engineering field, in particular thermal, comfort, ventilation and smoke control, within the normative and regulatory context, without neglecting the commitment to developing technical and economically sustainable solutions, especially focused on energy efficiency and reliability of the systems we design.
To calculate thermal and ventilation requirements, we use dynamic simulation software, duly certified and integrated into the BIM.
In the FSIB Division, we design projects for various types of buildings, from residential and commercial to industrial and sports infrastructures, located in the various markets where Quadrante operates.
The topic of Fire Safety in Buildings (FSIB) is of particular importance as it deals with sensitive issues directly related to the safety of people and property. At the same time, it is a very restrictive and demanding area for designing the building and poses various challenges to the other specialities, such as architecture or MEP specialities.
We incorporate into our designs the best and most up-to-date technical solutions within the applicable legal framework, in a harmonised manner with the architectural and functional requirements and with the needs of the Project Owner.
We provide Building Automation and Technical Management services to meet today’s building challenges.
With a multidisciplinary team with experience in the various dimensions of building design, we create systems that integrate energy management, lighting, air conditioning, communications and flow control, guaranteeing superior user comfort and sustainable, rational resource management.
In addition to design services, we also provide data management and analysis services. Based on the collection of data from the various systems, we provide personalized operational intelligence reports, providing a comprehensive view of the building’s performance and designing strategies to improve it.
